The Type D was a racing car produced by the German manufacturer Auto Union in 1939. It was powered by a V12 engine and had a top speed of almost 320 km/h. The Type D competed in the inaugural season of the prestigious Grand Prix series, and it quickly became the dominant car. In total, the Type D won 12 of the 18 races it entered.
However, its success came to an abrupt end when World War II broke out and racing was suspended. The Type D never raced again, but its legacy as one of the greatest racing cars of all time lives on.
